You'll need the Lexia 3 interface which should come with the required software & a laptop. The interface plugs into the OBDII socket.

Depending on the version of the software you may need Windows XP on the laptop but some people are running it successfully on windows 7 without resorting to using the XP mode virtual PC.

Many people get their kit from ebay but many people recommend easydiagnostics.com because they provide after sales help.

Can I just ask where does this plug in ?
The OBDII socket. On a 2002 307 it's behind the clip on plastic facia with the small cubby hole on the face of the dash to the right of the ignition barrel. There is a small fastener with a slot which needs rotating 90 degrees to 'unlock' it. A small coin will turn it easily. Once the fastener is undone, gently pull the panel off and you will see the green socket that the diagnostic connects to.

Having the Diagnostics is all well and good, it's interpreting and understanding the findings that is the hard part. I'm still learning after having my setup for about a year but I have been fortunate that I've never had to use it to diagnose a problem on my car so far.

One more thing to remember, and I'm not trying to insult you, but some people think that connecting the diagnostic and clearing the fault codes will solve the problems. This isn't the case. Yes you can clear many fault codes without actually repairing the problem but they will simply come back after a very short time.

The diagnostics can help you locate the cause of the problem which once repaired will allow you to clear the fault without it coming back. The wording of the diagnostic findings seems to lose some meaning in the translation from French but the more experienced users can help with understanding some of the diagnostic results. Other results are pretty obvious and easy to understand.

If you get the kit, connect it up and look around to see what it is capable of BUT don't change anything if you don't fully understand what you are changing. Altering the wrong settings can stop the car working.
