In the central console there is this strange part that I can't identify.

There is a name of the company in the 1st picture Faurescia
I went to there web page and did google search for this part but didn't found out what was it.

not sure, looks like a modded part built into the compartment that sits by the stereo, with the 2 holes on the left hand side are they jack plug sockets, have you a picture of the back, just to see if someone has cut out a hole to route the cables from it. ???

The body is definitely Peugeot cos of the logo but the stuff inside looks a bit aftermarket, maybe magnetic phone holder ??

Here's the back panel

There is connector on the back panel and I managed to find out what it is.

It's built in navigational system

Here's a couple of pictures of the whole system

Yeah,I found this also:

AvMap, Peugeot launch PND with breathalyzer

Italian GPS manufacturer, AvMap, and car manufacturer, Peugeot, have launched a new PND called Geosat 6 Drive Safe.

Geosat 6 Drive Safe integrates a breathalyzer to test the sobriety of the driver. By blowing air on the right upper side of this PND the driver tests their alcohol level to find out if they are safe to drive or not.

Geosat 6 Drive Safe has a 12cm (4.8in) touchscreen, text to speech capability and Bluetooth for hands-free calls. This PND is provided with “Italia Plus” maps from Tele Atlas, covering Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and southeastern France.

AvMap has been the provider to Peugeot Automobile in Italy since 2005 and has partnered for several special editions of Peugeot cars.

I didn't find that connector at the back of the original stereo.
I also try to find how GeoSat 6 is connected to car but no luck there.
For now at least
