Hi All, I realise there are probably hundreds of threads about the de pollution system out there but the ones I have read are making my eyes bleed as there are that many and none seem to stay on subject or they just stop with no real reasoning.

Ok - I have a 06 1.6hdi Peugeot 307sw.

A few months ago the engine management light popped on and flashed up de-pollution system faulty, then nothing, all of a sudden, the light is on and off, the car is going into limp mode and seems to be lagging abit when you put your foot down. Booked it in at local garage, who couldnt figure it out, so refered me to a diesel specialist, who also couldnt fathom what was going on, so off to Peugeot it went, got it back yesterday with a new fuel pump, light off ran sweet all the way home and this morning. Went to start it after if being parked for an hour or so and the light came on before I had even started the engine. It has since gone off again.

I know there are a number of things it could be, but is that the point? There are a number of things it could be, no-one is really sure (ie the main dealer) so they change things till it sorts it out?

Any help or DIY (nothing major) things I could do myself that the peugeot folks will charge me big money for would be gratefully recieved :)

Hi. Yes, I maybe should've been more specific-it went on, and stayed on while I drove home (about 5 miles) parked up then light had gone off when hubby went to work a few hours later

If the faults weren't cleared by the garage after repair (pretty poor show if that's the case) then the light will remain on for a few "cycles".
