Hello, wondering if someone out there can help me!

I have a peugeot 308cc - 2009, bought it brand new. I'm looking to sell it soon & put the money towards a new car. I've taken care of this car & it has only done 20,000 odd miles!

Anyway let's cut to the chase. I normally clean my car myself, always have with every car I've had. Only sometimes as a treat do I send it to a company to get valeted (K.W.S Valeting here in N.Wales). The other week, my brother recommended two blokes who did car valeting and as a treat, my mum paid for it. I'd seen the good job they'd done on his Audi & her Range Rover, fairplay, they were good.

HOWEVER.. when I got my car back. I wasn't happy. I noticed straight away the left hand side temp display was missing a few pixels. So the 7 had changed to a 1 & so on. I ignored it & just thought it would go back to normal. Nope, not the case. The right hand side one started to go as well. Now, I cannot make ANY of the numbers out at all.

I took my car to peugeot themselves, asked them for a quote to get it replaced. It came back as £475 with vat & to get it installed. GULP! I don't have that money & don't want to be spending that amount when I'm going to be selling it anyway!! There is NO way I'll be seeing a penny of these two guys as I've left it for a couple of weeks & there is no 'proof' if you like, that it was them who have done it. Even though, I know. So, my options are to find a part somewhere else (but where!?) or ask you people for any other advice!? Can I get an electrician to look at it? Sounds silly but I've seen a video of a bloke with the SAME problem and when it is taken out, it is a circuit board type thing.. Here'e the video that shows my problem *NOTE: NOT my video - but same problem shown in the first minute*

I need to know what to do ASAP because ideally I want to hand my car over to the local dealer to sell for me & obviously it will sell better if this is fixed! Arghh!

New display unless you can get a specialist to repair the pixles. Google pixle repair. There are companies that do it.

Thanks for that, I'll look into it! When the guy in the vid takes it apart you can see that you CAN take those little panels out, so surely there is a way to just replace those rather than the whole thing, right!? Thanks again!

No you'll be able to repair the pixels in these panels not replace them. Someone pressed on them too hard id say.

Yup that's what I thought too, probably with a cloth full of cleaner too! Just lucky they didn't do it with the main (top) display :(

Presume it's the climate control display, dealer part cost over £400 so breakers, as previous post, would certainly be your cheapest option. Mine had same problem but replaced as part of purchase price.
