I know a lot of people say the glow plugs are not used till -15,the following comments are from the haynes manual,

The preheating system begins to operate as soon as the ignition key is switched to the second position,but only if the engine coolant temperature is below 20degress.

Only guessing but i would have thought this would be the case when the weather is as cold as it is now.

Not sure what people think to the following comments.Cheers.

Thanks for the reply gibbo,it is nearly the same as it states in the haynes manual,but at the coolant temperature being below 20degrees would that mean the glow plugs will be needed.cheers.

Really intresting thread, regarding the heater plugs. People often forget about the post heating side of things when making referance to HDI engines.
