Hi,

I've only owned my car for about 1 month but I have started to notice that the car / engine is quite noisy when starting it from cold.....the noise level returns to normal once the engine has warmed up.

A few of days ago the car felt really sluggish and the turbo wasn't kicking in at all. However this fixed itself after a couple of days and hasnt returned since.

There were no warning lights on the dash whilst the car was sluggish and, after using my code reader, no codes were present.

Im booked in with Peugeot on the 18th for a diagnosis but was wondering what the thoughts were on here?

Thanks!

Just thought I'd give a quick update.

My car was in at Peugeot today for a diagnosis of the problem. There was a fault code present and I have been told that the inlet valves are clogged up and need cleaning.

They have quoted me £840 for the unclogging the valves, oil and filter change and software update.

Yikes!!!!!

They didn't actually tell me the fault code when I picked the car up yesterday.

It does sound like a lot of money but they mentioned that they need a special tool to do it so it needs to be done by Peugeot?! Would you recommend taking it somewhere else? I wouldn't get the software update at an independent garage which would concern me.

They also noticed that the bracket on the middle and rear sections of my exhaust have snapped and have quoted me £630 for that too.

yeh its a special tool, process is called "walnut blasting", they have not long started doing this process as before they just used a spray which was completely useless.

what model of 207 is it forgot to ask u! guessing its a turbo petrol version.

exhaust wise.... u could get an after market exhaust done for half that price!!

where abouts are u from?

ah shame ur so far from here as we can do the cleaning of inlet valves manually!

know a lad who is a ford mechanic but has a 207 gti who is in Chatham who has rebuild his engine etc and would probably be able to clean them for you.

will text him and ask for you, or you could speak to him and other 207 owners if you were heading along the the French car show next month at castle combe race track!!
