Guys,
I have just come off the phone after my Motability specialist called me to inform there is an issue with the order for my vehicle a GT Line 1.6e-THP.

With the configuration I also chose a good few extras; of which two were Napa Minstrel Leather for £1,790.00 and Heated Seats for £560.00.

The dealer has today been informed by Peugeot that they can not build the vehicle to my configuration. They say "you can not have the Napa Leather with Heated Seats".
Now I find this incredible:-
1. It's available in the configurator.
2. The GT comes standard with the same Leather and Heated Seats.

I just find this totally idiotic. Any comments or advice guys?

If you can spec it in configurator you can have it, unless you have caught them on the cusp of a spec change. Maybe try speaking online through the chat on the website to confirm, then you can go back to dealer with the info. Sounds like their is some other motivation at play here..

?
Yep, my GT has this combination so definitely possible.

Its strange, like with 1.2l petrol now no longer being available in GT Line trim - perhaps Peugeot are trying to restrict number of options to aid production, with the configurator not updated as yet?

I wonder if Motability have put a block on it Mike? I know that you're paying for the extras but when all is said and done, the car will actually belong to Motability. It might be worth giving them a call first and if Motability are happy then by all means fight the dealers.

Obviously I don't know anything about this but it was just a thought.

These are just extras Gill nothing to do with Motability but I appreciate your reply. :)

Thought if you spec Napa Minstrel Leather for £1,790.00 heated seats included in that option.
so no need to had heated seats at £560.
maybe that's why system come up with error ???

Weirdly you should say this:-
I have just this last 10 minutes heard back from the Motability specialist that they too have heard that is the case.
As such I have asked them to check 100% that is the case.

I'm still confused though that the configurator mentions nothing of the fact the Napa has Heated Seats and that you can still chose both Napa and HS as two separate options that are accepted.

May I ask where you have this vital information?

BRILLIANT...... Thanks :thumb:

It amazes me that both the specialist and the dealer missed that. Their advice was to remove the leather option.

It is still idiotic that the configurator has no mention of this and that it sill allows you to add both items individually.

If you build the car on Carwow as I did originally, when you select full leather seats, heated seats come up as included in pack.
Thanks Chris, never knew about Carwow.
Go to the dealer and they use the Peugeot site as I did. Strange it may be but when using the standard Peugeot configurator it never mentions you don't need to order heated seats with Napa leather.
The dealer agrees this is one error just like when you add the Smart Electric Tailgate that includes Open & Go but strangely you can still add Open & Go as a separate item and it is included then added to the price. These configuration orders simply should not be accepted and with that I lay the blame with the Peugeot site here:- https://offers.peugeot.co.uk/choose-your-peugeot/configure-new-3008-suv/gt-line

So now you don't have to pay for heated seats, what are you getting instead :)

Or are the extras included in motability also? not sure how it works really. My dad used to get a motability car but it was nothing as exciting as a 3008, just all 1.2 or 1.0l corsas.. yawn.

The reason I now don't have to pay for the heated seats option is because they are already added as part of the Napa full leather optional extra. It just doesn't say this at the configurator.

As to what extras does Motability include; the simple answer to that is none.
Any extras after the vehicle model and engine are paid for by the customer, which includes the paint choice as well.
It's only fair: If I desire an extra I should then have to pay for it in full.

Don't think I explained myself. It sounded like you were ready to pay 1700 + 500 for the seats and heating, but now you discover you get both for 1700. Was wondering if you were going to spend the newfound 500 approx on a new option instead.

I'll try and explain pinkaardvark

Motability will only pay for a car in whatever spec is on offer plus metallic paint eg, an Allure or a GTLINE but if you have a cheaper basic model (in your dad's case a Corsa) you either get some of your DLA/PIP payment back or you pay no extra but your total allowance goes towards the car. If you want a more expensive car you pay a non-returnable "Advance Payment" but again you only get whatever comes as standard. If you then want anything added, like heated seats or pearlescent paint the customer pays the extra on top of the weekly payment of benefit plus the Advanced Payment. Motability will not let you have a car in a solid colour, you have to have metallic and some manufacturers give front and rear parking sensors for free to Motability customers.

Up until January 2017, a disabled customer could have more or less what car they wanted providing the manufacturer agreed to have that particular car included on the scheme (e.g. Range Rover Evoque). In January though, a cap was put on the maximum price available through the scheme so now any car costing more than £28000 for manual and £29500 for auto were no longer available on Motability. The 3008 is therefore available as an Allure and GTLINE but the GT is above the cap so is not available.

Every quarter, 1st Jan, April, July and Oct, the Advanced Payments are reviewed to take account of price increases, special offers etc so anyone ordering a 3008 Allure 1.2 Auto today, for example, would pay an Advanced Payment of £2199 whereas if they'd ordered it in March, they would have paid £1699 - a £500 increase because of the price going up and because it's so popular. Anyone ordering after 1st July could pay more or even less, depending on what Peugeot decide for the new quarter.

I've hopefully got this right but I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will put me right. Over to you Mike!

Ahh my apologies. Yes you are quite correct, I was happy to pay for the two as £1790 + £560 but now it's just the £1790.
As to the rest; I had already maxed out the vehicle on extras anyway, so this means in the end I've saved myself £560.

Nice explanation Gill.
I think your figures are right but can't check at the moment.
Regardless, thanks.:thumb:
