Gear Oil should be BV 75W80. They say other GL4/5 oils are OK but people have had issues with poor gearchange etc when other oils used. Dealer price is not to bad for the genuine oil.

I have had a solid conversion on my 2.0 HDI for more than 100K miles with no issues. Some people say they have vibration or gearbox issues so the choice is yours.
