What would be cheaper to repair or refurbish my gearbox on 307 1.4 8v from 2002? There is nose of every gear, when clutch is pressed, noise is gone. I lifted both wheels on the front and checked both driveshaft so it`s not inner CV. It`s gearbox bearings or clutch plate. Used gearbox cost is 150 quid plus to fit it in about 100 quid.

If you are happy to remove box and be without car for a day or so, it is not too hard to change input shaft bearings etc. I did my daughters without to much of an issue. You could also just take a punt on a second hand box off of ebay. I took a gamble on one for mates 307 2.0 HDI and got a used box for £35.00 (had to drive 50 miles to collect) and it works fine.

Not sure how far away this is from you

That one listed was taken from a 307 so should be fine

Just checked servicebox and a there is a couple of 206 gearboxes (with hydraulic clutch) that share codes with 307 so should fit. Need last 8 of your VIN to confirm gearbox code

It might be low because I had some leak from driveshaft. Tomorrow I'll pick up oil from post office. The thing is I don't have 8mm male socket to check oil level, what would be safe amount of oil just not to overfill gearbox? 200-300ml?

That vin lists following on service box so any should fit but may need to use 2449.A6 (I would think this is blank for speed sensor but did not check)

New MEC Gearbox
CP (13X59)
MARKING CP41 CN18 (CP41)
requires additional 2449 A6 x1

Exchange Gearbox
CP (13X59)
MARKING (CPD1) CPD1 CP41 CN18 CNA8 (CNA8)

New MEC Gearbox
CP (13X59)
MARKING (CP42) CN19 (CQ15) CQ15 CP42
requires additional 2449 A6 x1

Exchange Gearbox
CP(13X59)
MARKING CN19 (CNA9) CNA9

I think they are all preceded with a 20 (my car is listed as DM09 and code on box is 20DM09)
