Hi all.

I have had a problem for the past couple of weeks with my 306 HDI. Driving home one evening, and all was well until I was a few hundred yards from my home. Attempted to change down approaching a junction, and the car crunched into gear. Parked up outside my home, tried to select a gear (any gear), but was not able to do so. Went out to the car the following morning, and the problem had gone, so I drove to my fathers home. He and I went back out to the car, drove for a few minutes, then same problem, could select no gears at all. Left the car where it was, went back the following day, and drove it home again. Went back out a few hours later, guess what no gears !! Has anybody got any suggestions what the fault may be ?
Does appear all is well until car is warmed up.

Titch.

Just a guess here but it sounds like it is the heat in the gearbox that is causing the problem. Check the gearbox for leaks and oil level.

If the clutch simply won't go in, a replacement cable is required; it tends to dry out on the inside and wear and become stiff.
