just got the car back after a repair - a wheel bearing was changed - but the issue was initially suspected to be a gearbox issue, as the front was rumbling and the mechanic didn't suspect a bearing, I believe his intention was to send the gearbox for repair initially, but he replaced front right bearing and all was ok.

the turbo and the egr valve have been replaced in the last week also.

since getting it back I noticed the clutch pedal "stuck" briefly - but only did it once.

I have tonight noticed that when I change from 3rd to 4th when travelling at speed I get a grinding noise and feeling - despite the clutch being fully down.

its not doing it all the time - but its a bit worrying.

any suggestions ?

thanks

Could be a host of things....

Does the clutch slip at all - maybe the clutch on its way out

It could be a bearing in the gearbox itself that is worn, causing the central shaft to be slightly out of line.

Saying that, my old Audi 80 had a very noisy gear box for most of its life - its still drove fine and I was doing a lot of miles at the time with no problems.

I would wait until the problem develops a bit more so you can identify it
