I have a 62 plate 308 hdi, I ran car all day the other day then parked up at night, In the morning came out to start car and nothing just dead, no interior lights radio or anything yet battery was full. I disconnected battery and then reconnected and everything worked fine. this as happened a couple of times but can go ages in between.I did notice in the fuse box nearest passenger side wing under bonnet a clicking noise from what looked like a solenoid, but do not know if this has anything to do with problem but always nervous switching car off. any Ideas please.

Yep underbonnet fusebox is a likely culprit but also make sure battery terminals are secure including any parts that connect to the fuses it may just be a poor connection and when you disconnect you disturb the poor connection in the process
