I'd just like to ask if anyone knows about fuel economy as I think my car is using more petrol than it was.

My car is a Peugeot 206 1.1 litre petrol. When I first started using my car, I was driving 28 miles each day, however as I was a new driver I was quite slow and took country lanes rather than higher speed roads. By the end of a week of driving I had used 1/4 of my tank.

A few months have passed and I am now a more confident driver and have started taking the dual carriage into work. I would have assumed that a shorter faster journey would use less petrol
However last week after only three maybe four trips, it is down to 75%.

Is it possible the small engine is struggling to keep up to those speeds and I'd be better off using the other route?

My garage checked it over, the emission test was fine.

Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.
