when useing pp2000 and detecting faults it says to turn on the ignition , does that mean start the engine or just turn the key on, that is to the second notch.
I ask because I always start the engine but have found that the faults don't always clear. I start the engine to look at the live data . does it do any harm to leave the ignition on for long periods of time while my slowish pc dillydallies at its work?

Start with the key in the accessory position. (click 1)

the software will tell you turn ignition on, move the key to the position it would be in whilst driving (click 2)

there are some procedures where it will ask you to turn engine on when it does this obviously move the key to start (click 3) until it starts then you let go of the key and it returns to click 2 (ignition)
(it's not just looking at live data that requires engine on)
