The Focal makes a very clear sound indeed.
Is it like opera ? No. But better than the previous system I had which where only the basic ones ? Yes, definitely.

It simple : before music was a commodity to stay awake, now I get to really appreciate it.

On my side it is all via spotify and there is a massive quality difference if in bluetooth or plugged via usb on carplay.

Hi,

For spotify, no issue on 4G as it buffers the music to play. I think it downloads the next 10 tracks so that if you are in a no network zone or skip a song it is seam less. Apart if you go to deep Wales or something like that where you can drop network for over 30 minutes you should be fine :)

It uses quite a lot of data indeed, but also it depends if you drive a lot or not....

The other thing you can do is download playlist or albums before hand at home on Wi-Fi. I do that a lot (nearly always actually).

There is an option in spotify to specify the music quality on streaming or on download, so you can increase it if you download at home (which I do).

I should add that one thing you cannot download are radios generated following your tastes (and spotify gets really good at that if you feed it correctly!) or radios following a song you liked.

If you listen via Apple carplay you will also have the immense pleasure to see the disgusting faded blurred beurk album artwork in the background of spotify. I can't believe they have do something that ugly.

Thanks. So, when your phone is connected do you navigate the songs etc using the car's touchscreen or the phone? (told you I was thick)
There are a few things you can do :
- use the right hand side wheel to change track
- If you click on the "phone" piano key whilst connected on usb with carplay or Android auto activated, you can control spotify (a reduced version of it really) via the car touchscreen
- if you are connected via bluetooth, you can go in media and control a few things from there (like the radio).
