Hello everyone. I bought a peugeot expert 2.0 HDI 06 plate van last night though a private ad and i have to say i was very pleased with it. The journey home was over 200 miles but i was looking forward to it as the van was very nice to drive. The problem started once i joined the A roads taking me to the M25. Once a speed of approx. 45 mph is reached a very loud and deafening humming sound appears to be coming from the rear drivers side of the van but as soon as it starts it then goes when the van reaches 55 mph. My first thoughts were wheel bearings as i have had these go before on previous vehicles but this noise (very loud) only happens between 45-55 mph and whilst driving in a straight line....Any answers would be much appreciated

Probably easiest to jack up the rear and give the wheels a good shake. Then spin them (handbrake off obviously). You may have side play, or feel / hear noisy wheel bearings. Compare one side to the other. You'll soon know
