P0571 - Generic Brake Switch A Circuit

P1521 - Variable intake solenoid #1 circuit malfunction
EDC15C2-Clutch sensor

P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
EDC15C2 - Crankshaft synchronisation

P0100 - Mass or Volume Air flow Circuit Malfunction
EDC15C2 - Flow sensor signal. Open circuit or short to earth / short to positive

P1138 - High pressure rail sensor fault / Lack of HO2S 2 switching - Sensor indicates rich
EDC15C2 - Fuel pressure. Stop requested but regulator still active.

The difference I think Betty is getting at is that you can get open circuit codes from temporarily disconnecting something. e.g. if you disconnect the MAF then re-connect it it will show the code you have. If you clear the codes first and see what comes back you will know that any faults showing are current.

Its worth noting that Haynes recommend a battery disconnect and BSI reset if disconnecting the MAF.

As for sounding expensive, a brake switch and new MAF sensor aren't much. I know some people speak against cheap Ebay ones but I bought one for my 51 plate 307 HDI 90 for £35 and it worked perfectly.

Mine had a broken wire. I removed the MAF sensor and took a close look and you could see the break.
