Hello Everybody,
My name is Clayton I live in Brazil and I have a 307 - 2004 2.0 16V, and the car starting to present intermittent issue on steering, sometimes is to hard to turn the steering wheel, in this case I just turn off the engine and turn on again and the electric pump start to work.

This week the pump stooped and doesn't turn on again, I checked the 70A fuse, the pump connectors, the level of fluid, and everything is OK.

I measured the resistance of ground connection and the + cable to the baterie and it seems ok too.

I disassembled the pump and re-solder all the PCBA connection with the external connector and doesn't work.

Now I'm suspecting that the alternator are not charging very well the batterie, there is no another electric issue on the car, but I have no idea to check.

In Brazil the electric pump is really expensive and I want to make sure that the issue is related to the pump before expend a lot of money in another one.

Someone faced the same issue related to the alternator? or have another idea to suggest me?

Thanks a lot for any help.

Check the master fuse underneath the tray with normal fuses in the engine bay. You have to remove some screws and lift the fuse tray up. The large brown 20 Amp fuse on the right hand controls the steering.
