Just replaced the electric window regulator on drivers side rear window on my wife's 307CC 04 plate. I was thinking as I did up the first bolt (with the nylon washers) that I ought to be using a torque wrench but didnt have one. Schoolboy error - overtightened it and it was like slow motion as the glass exploded all over the place including me.

Does anyone have any (sensible!) tips to stop it happening again. New glass on order £20 from ebay. I was wondering if I just tightened it by hand without the handle on the spanner if that would be enough to stop it moving. If anyone has the torque setting I'll try and borrow a torque wrench.

Incidentally it wasnt much more for a second hand whole new regulator than the repair kits.

Thanks all
