I need a replacement engine undertray, anyone suggest a supplier who will be cheaper than main dealer. Cheers

MY under tray came off before I bought the car.

This left to the trunking on my handbrake cable being chafed, which led to water ingress. Then the cold weather came and the water in there froze, and my handbrake would not release my rear N/S wheel

That's probably the only reason you'd want to replace the tray. Now I only park with it in gear in the cold so it's not going to be any bother again. Still gotta replace that handbrake cable like! :D

I wasn't banking on being asked why

mechanic said the undertray was protecting it, if something went underneath it could have done the damage

Well I'm just saying what the mechanic told me.

Maybes he was suggesting something had tore the undertray off and had chafed the handbrake cable trunking in the process.

But that's what happened anyway.

Which year did you fit this too, I have a pre-facelift 2005 2.0hdi sw but the dealer told me they now supply the later and longer version as the earlier one had faults.

By the way, my handbrake cable froze up too - for over 2 weeks..!!
