Hello All,

Got an 807, 57 plate, its been ok but yesterday while waiting in traffic got a STOP message saying that the engine temp was too high.

Stopped the car and waited and managed to get it home, but it kept going high all the way home, but moving obviously helped keep it cool. I did notice that the fan doesn't sound like its working. I have changed the fuse (20 amp) but i still haven't heard the fan kick in yet.

Is there anything else I can check, its due for its MOT this weekend

Thanks

I have the same problem. When standing in front of the car there is a plastic cover to the right of the engine fan. Inside there are two relays to power the fan. It’s easy for water, salt and dirt to penetrate the cover. Power cable connetion to one of the relays on my car had corroded completely. So that’s one easy thing to check. Lots of room to manouver about as well so not a complete hassle.

Another fault may be the fan itself. With the top cover off (need to remove six plastic plugs to take it off) you can apply 12V directly to the fan connection to see if it starts.

Here’s a youtube clip showing how it’s done. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ox7BA9FFXY4
