Hello all,

As you can probably tell I'm new to the forum! I have previous experience with forums and all have been very friendly and helpful and I imagine it will be the same here :)

Well after less than a weeks ownership I have a small problem with my 307

307 HDi xsi ( no mods at all etc)

So here we go, it ran perfect for 5 days no problems, I did some spirited driving to see how it went and was perfect. On the 6th day I came off a slip road in 3rd and put my foot down to get up to speed, when on full load in 3rd at about 3.5kish revs, beep! My engine management light came on :(

When I turn car off it goes away until I load it in 3rd or 4th again and beep, light is back on.

I have a basic code reader and here's what came up,

P1457 mfr-spec code definition not known
P0472 generic exhaust pressure sensor low

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hi, welcome to the forum.

P1457 is Particulate emission filter absent, which sounds like someone has removed bits from the car.

Could be a FAP removal not done properly.

Oh right. Any way of checking etc? Does that mean the dpf has been removed? What's fap? Any more info would be great, don't know a lot about diesels as had a Leon cupra R for last few years.

Thanks

Also is it safe to drive still? Or may it cause problems with the light on, paranoid to ever put my foot down now.

Could be your particulate filter differential pressure sensor, this sensor compares the pressure between the input and output of the particulate filter on the exhaust so that the ECU will know when the filter is blocked.

Sometimes the sensor goes faulty so the ECU will think there's 0% pressure difference across the filter and assumes it's either got a hole in it or it's not there.

Imiller, did you get to the bottom of the issue? Ive been having a similar problem, I have bought a new sensor today so hopefully will be here early next week for me to fit.

Any info on how yours turned out would be great!

Cheers
