Hi there

I have a peugeot 206 gti 2002 and recently I have just got a message saying engine immobiliser fault :( the engine turns over and had the AA come out who confirmed all the fuses are ok, and also performed a battery reset which didn't work. Any ideas and help would be appreciated :(

You have not changed your ignition key recently? The key contains a chip which if not present the engine turns over but will not start. The chip is tiny and easily lost. Just one possibility. It will not show up as a fault code unless you check the codes with the engine turning on the key

206 cutting out problem

Had problem with peugoet 206cc 1.6hdi cutting out. Researched on this forum, seams a lot of people are having same problem. Tried BSI reset to no avail so took battery off to try charging over night. Took battery out to fit this morning checked negative connector which has two wires one from battery to the engine an earth wire also connects to this wire near to where it connects to the engine this wire earths to the bodywork under the battery tray. The earth wire had broken at the joint where the two wires connect together near the engine.Took the two pieces to my local LEDSONS and they built me a new one (only ÂŁ11.00 pounds ) had to remove the battery tray to fit( which is a bit fiddly 4 bolts 3 nuts and a couple of screws) once fitted reconnected the battery and hey presto problems solved. Hope this is helpful to anyone.
Yours Paul
