Hello, I've recently had the engine fault repair needed message when starting my peugeot 208. Drives absolutely fine but get this message intermittently when starting up. I've had it to the dealer and come back with starter motor error so it was changed but same message is occurring. Been back to the dealer and coming up same error (starter motor) so it's been escalated to technical office I Hungary and awaiting further details about whats happening next. Yesterday I stopped twice at traffic lights and engine switched off due to start stop and the message appeared. Today I've turned off eco mode and so far no error message. I've read this could be a battery issue? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks

I have a 2017 308 had this message appear for weeks one garage couldn't sort it took it to a peugeot main dealer they had it for two days . Said technicians charged battery over night as fault was battery. Didn't change the battery but said it was fine to drive. Two days later message appeared car went into limp mode . I disconnected the battery for 30 mins drives fine at the moment so annoying. Peugeot dealer charged me £160 
A common issue indeed. Ours has had that engine fault message for at least 2 years now. On and off. Battery was blamed. Changed battery. Worked fine for a week then back again with the message.
