Had this code on my 2017 diesel c3. Cleared code and then after a couple of runs U509E came on. Cleared again when engine up to middle ot temp gauge. Fault reset and ran for about 1/2hr no fault returned. Ran next day up to temperature with no faults. Run today up to temperature no fault. I had my first experience of adblu faults in 2021 that showed new pump and tank required. Fault cleared itself eventually and had no problems as the car was always run up to temperature on almost all trips. MOT passed in 2022. I had no problems until, as previously described, above this year 2023. In conclusion I can only see that the problem with diesel vehicles with later emissions control such as adblu or DPFare susceptible to fault codes due to inability to be driven short trips for (yes I know this is common knowledge) any length of time, they must, to be fault free, be driven for long distances which becomes uneconomical to use. I will therefore be changing to a petrol car having driven citroen diesels since 1995.
