Okay people I'm going to cut to the chase..

I got a 1.6HDi 110 on an 04 plate pug 307.

I've had ongoing issues with a diesel specialist letting me know its clogged up with carbon..

I'm not going to get down with the nitty gritty but basically it needs an engine swap.. Now they want to charge me 500 great British pounds to swap it over. When I already have a lock up and an engine crane..

I'm quite mechanically minded but never done an engine swap.. My main question is how hard is it to swap this engine..

Yes om considering a Haynes manual before anyone says and don't ask me for the milage as that's got naf all to do with my question.

Can anyone run me through the process and how much work its going to take..

I'm not sure how an engine Is all connected.. Like mounts and gear box and everything else

Cheers guys

Quickest way is to remove the whole unit engine and gearbox then swap everything over then refit as to try doing the engine on its own is madness :)

Remove the front bumper front panel/rads then you can see its reasonably easy to remove the whole unit

theres 3 mounts top left gearbox and the one at the bottom. its more all the pipework and things. theres tonnes on a 1.6hdi.

i would suggest a clutch and timing belt change as its easy as pie like that

you may be able to get the engine out without the subframe out might be a squeeze but with no bits and bobs connected should be ok

No need to remove subframe if you remove bumper it just lifts out I can have 1 out our taxis in 2 hours :)
Do you think you could do a brief run through..

And as with tools is there going to be any specific tools out or the norm to do this job.. Or just straight plain simple spanners
