Hi all
Got the father in laws car in workshop at the mo with cutting out issues.
Done a scan and this is what was in the ECU.

I suspect a dodgy EGR valve and was looking into possible blanking.
I no VW and audi have a bypass kit and some Very quick research i seen blanking plates for the 307.

Anyone done it?
Whats involved?
What do i need?

Blanking it is easy but if it's faulty it'll still show the faults.
Search the 407 section loads of info on blanking.

Can i just confirm that from the codes that come up i can safely say that the EGR valve needs replacing.
What does everyone think???

It looks like a 1.6 HDi from the VIN.

If that's the case, we had a very similar list of faults on our 307 1.6 HDi and needed to replace the EGR to solve them.
Blanking the EGR wouldn't make them go away.

It's also possible to try to clean the valve inside, it is full of black soot from exhaust gases that will cause it to stick. I heard cleaning it with brake cleaner etc has helped some people.

If its an electrical egr then switch car off and unplug it to see if symptoms disappear ,
My problem with cleaning an egr is , what do you do with the pipes going and coming from it ?
These are clogged aswell and will simply clog egr again , just blank the bugger lol

On my rounds today and stopped in one of my customers who offer Quantum tuning. The guy I forms me he can tell the ECU there is no egr and basically ensure it stays in the closed position and whilst there perform a performance remap. Offered me a bargain price as I'm in the trade.
Seriously thinking about this but what's people's opinion on this?
