I have tried this in VW group cars with automatic gearbox..you just hit the brake pedal and the gas pedal at the same time in sport mode..than you release the brake pedal and it will maintain the optimal RPMs to launch the car with the most effective power to the wheels.

Does anybody tried this with EAT6???

I`ll let someone else try that one, i prefer to drive a little more serene from the traffic lights. Can`t see it doing the engine or gearbox any good :nono:

actually you don't do it quite often...maybe drag races..or measure the acceleration. Holding down the break pedal should last only few seconds..I guess no more than 3secs.

It's a factory thing in these models..only with wet clutch.

Yeah.. most Autos say don't do both at the same time.

Are you sure it's not a mode but more that the torque converter is locked up prior to the acceleration?

Yeah i used to go karting and you get banned from the track for left foot braking as it screws up the auto clutch when using both pedals

I would have thought the bake light activation cuts the fuel flow to idle only.

Some cars have 'launch' mode as a selection eg M series BMWs
