Hi,
I have just retro fitted cruise control to my car at last. I have had to run an extra wire from the ECU to the brake switch and have struggled to get through the bulkhead. As a temporary measure I have had to run the wire through the door opening but obviously this is not ideal.
Does anybody know of an easy way through the bulkhead on the left side?

Thanks

Maybe not on the left side but there should be a rubber grommet somewhere you can slip through. If not I guess just drill a hole. There should be somewhere with a gap to run the wires through. Like rigging up power for a subwoofer.

I have found a rubber grommet type of thing alongside the steering column but it does not want to come out and I am reluctant to just drill a hole through it as it might not be just a grommet. On the same basis there seems to be very little space on the bulkhead that has not got anything fixed to it on the left side.

I have finally completed the installation of my cruise control. I could not get the wire through the bulkhead with the bonnet release cable, however there is a small cone shaped grommet near the bonnet release cable in the recess just below the windscreen. I removed that and poked a screwdriver very gently through the hole until I heard it "pop" through the insulation behind I then poked a cable tie through the hole as I was afraid of shorting something with a metal tool or wire. The fuse box and BSI are located behind this area. I then fixed the wire to the cable tie and pulled it back through.
Reconnected it to the brake light switch and voila cruise control.:lol:
