Got a new gearbox o/s driveshaft oil seal from dealers 3121-46 for 307 1.6l petrol on 55 plate.
Taken old seal out and looks bit different and dimensions on it are different too.
New one 29.9X47X11.3
old one 29.85X47X9.9
Dealer says its right one and service box says right also.
Any ideas please if it will work? not keen to build it back and not work.

So long as the OD and ID are the same should not be a problem.
Put one in a Shogun steering box years ago that was sl. deeper and worked a treat, Mitsubishi didn't sell the seal separately and wanted an exchange box for £400 but found a place near me that sold seals and they matched me one up close enough - cost 25 pence !!

Fitted it anyway, thanks for reply.
See what happens tomorrow when i fill box up.

Too late I know, but simply slipping the new seal over the exposed drive shaft end with some gear oil there will show if it's right, it should be a slight interference fit.
