Hi
My wife's 2007 307cc drivers window was squeaking so I decided to squirt some silicon spray on rubber which I did. The window was then activated a couple of times and then when in the up position stopped working (it had worked previously no problems except squeak)
on opening the door to get out of the vehicle the window dropped the correct amount but on closing the door it remained in this position.
I tried locking and unlocking and no change. (I could move it back up with the switch but it would not move back down
upon leaving the car for about 15 minutes this fault appeared to correct itself and on opening the door the window dropped a little to allow access and upon closing the door the window went back up. I tried to move window down with the switch which worked for 2 attempts then same fault.
have tried the resets and disconnecting battery etc but when it does reset itself after a couple of uses it again freezes in the up position and only resets after a period of time. This is also the case whether using drivers door control or the roof window function

Any ideas as it is driving me mad?

Your just overloading the circuit its got inbuilt protection and will switch off if it gets hot this is normal and caused by the friction that is causing the noise.

You need to get the grease/spray into the cables inside the door so you need the door panel off and grease up the cables.
