Betty - you done them on one of your fleet?
last time mechanic was about to change all discs and pads he noticed gearbox oil leaking through the seal so we changed it at the same time 99% certain price was £9 through dealers.:)

I wonder how bad a job it is to remove it from the casting?

Some of these things can be a real pain.

I replaced the front balljoint on my 02 307 (since sold) and the driveshaft
popped out while struggling (on my own) to get the new balljoint fitted...
I pushed it back in quickly too stop the gearoil running out......
a few days later oil was dripping from the gearbox as the driveshaft seal
was goosed.. ..when i pushed the driveshaft back into the gearbox
grit got onto the seal and it was worn out in a few days...:(

It's not that bad of a job just seat the seal into the gearbox snugly and keep everything clean....your only allowed one (maybe two)curses.....

That at least shows its an easy swap then, as if the shaft was out you can get the old seal pulled out easily.

Bummer with the dirt though... its not often easy to avoid that.
