Another point is if you messed around with the radio double check fuses.

Radio fuse powers comm unit on most models and with no power you get no beep as key is not detected

Communciation with the analogue module "not in porgress"

I have known a hard reset cure the non starting problem.
My 406 is immobilized again with the BSI confirming the key is good (beep test) but not communicating with the ECU (see attached PP2000 screen grab). This time I think it's an electronics glitch as even PP2000 on the diag port can not read or clear the ECU fault codes. My generic OBD reader also reports back as ecu not found. I have checked the wiring (under carpet) between BSI and ECU time and again over the last 14 days, and all there seems to be OK.

SO: Can I hard reset an ECU and then recover with Planet ?
Where can I find a thread to detail that procedure or is it simply a matter of disconnecting the engine ecu from the battery supply (which I have already done) ?

If a hard reset is the same as a BSI reboot, the procedure is here.

Note that it does not always work first time, so try at least 3 times before despairing.
