Hello. I am the owner of a 308 Sport Diesal 1.6. 2010 reg.I would like to consider myself a responsible car owner thats respects the need to maintain a vehicle, would support a trusted garage/mechanic without being taken for a ride, hence joining the forum. My apologies if I ask seemingly daft questions. One of the main beam bulbs has failed. I have found out that the bulb to be replaced is an xenon D1S-35W,which the handbook states MUST be replaced by a Peugeot dealer. The car is under warranty, the bulb is not a part covered by the warranty. The bulbs are very expensive, around the £90 mark. I know cars are expensive, full stop, but would like to know if I have to use the Peugeot dealer. Would using a VAT registered garage to replace the bulb affect the warranty? Could The expensive Xenon bulb be replaced with any other appropriate bulb that does not carry the risk of electrocution as warned?
