Hi all new to diesel cars.i always had petrol..i find its take a few turns with key to get car going fine after that....i replaced the glow plugs just in case it was them..i dont think they ever been replaced....car done 87000 and is 2003 model 307sw....are diesels always hard to start in cold morning and is it the norm...or are they petrol and should start first go...thanks in advance...and if its not glow plug and ideas what else it could be...

If it's an HDi it should start almost instantly. The hDis are very low compression and hardly ever activate the glow plugs, except in uber cool weather.

Its the HDI version i think.....any other ideas what it maybe...off your head that it could be before i take it to garage to fix..and big bill more than likely...just the morning i have this problem rest of day its fine

New diesel filter is the obvious place to start, followed by a thorough check of the fuel system for any leaks where air could be getting in.
