Ran a diagnostic for Callum1991 tonight and got the following results

P0011 - Permanent fault. Inlet camshaft dephasing Coherence
P1536 - Intermittent fault. Main and secondary brake information fault Coherence
P0420 - Intermittent fault. Catalytic converter ageing Loss of effectiveness
P0703 - Intermittent fault. Brake pedal position signal fault Coherence

The main concern he has is the depolution error flashing up on the MFD, EML illuminated and the car struggling to idle and losing power. Looking at the live parameter data with the engine idling didn't show anything obvious with all parameters either spot on the reference values or very close as to be of no concern.

The P0420 fault is the one that rings alarm bells for me. Maybe it has started to break up and is partially blocking the exit pipe. He did say he heard something rattling on the odd occasion.

Would appreciate anyone's input and thoughts.

The two brake pedal faults are the brake light switch that's under the glovebox, simple swap over for the part, can get just the switch or the full harness, full Barnes and switch is 25 quid from ur dealer, common fault on the 207' especially the 150THP models.

The faults also knock of the cruise control faint if that's present on the vehicle.

The inlet camshaft one is the depasher on the back of the engine block, must above timimg tensioner, Prob covered up in gunk and oil, may just need a clean , oil change and put back in, otherwise new part at roughly 100 quid.

Yeh would be looking at new CAT, for the 0420 code as well.

we had the p0014 code which was the exhaust vanos solenoid, replaced it with a bmw part and its been fine since, but when i removed the inlet solenoid it was coated in a oily tar on the screen, no code but not good.

may not hurt to remove the vv motor when there make sure the worm gear is clean, ours had a bit of dry oil on it, only 3 t30 and wind it out with a 4mm allen key.

once your air filter housing is out the way plenty of room.
