I had the same problem. In the end I bit the bullet and ordered the cables and downloaded the software from the guides in the Files section here Peugeot Planet 2000 & Lexia Diagbox Diagnostics Group UK Based | Facebook
I figured that as I run two Peugeots it will pay for itself very quickly

Not sure a diagnostic will tell you much, probably needs to go for an aircon check.
