I have an intermittent fault in my 807 2.2 Hdi. At some point in virtually every day it will signal a depolution fault, the engine light comes on, power drops dramatically and it won’t rev past about 3,500 to 4,000. If I stop and switch off I normally get about 90% power back for a while and it is hit or miss whether the next day it will be clear or not but it generally is. Peugeot have had the diagnostic device on it and there are certainly some other faults in the ECU but nothing that proves that it is causing this. It has had a new mas meter – no result. Some say the turbo could be at fault but I can’t see why the stop start routine would clear that, it is not as though I give it time to cool off – just 3 or 4 minutes. Personally I suspect the ECU as it sounds as though it is in effect rebooting. Peugeot want to subject it to diagnostics at some frightening price before we even get in to remedial work. Anyone have any views on this?
