I am the new owner of a Peugeot 307 1.6 SE Petrol 05 Reg. We bought it at a bargain price, mainly because the engine light is on. looking back through the paperwork it came with the car went through its last MOT at the beginning of Aug with the light on and still passed. The coil pack was replaced a few years ago too and also have the receipt for that.

The message on the screen is 'depollution system faulty'.

Now all of the research i have done on the internet only gives me information about diesel's, mine is a petrol.

I dont have any diagnostics codes as im looking into getting a peugeot planet Diagnostic's soon.

I have tried the simple things, Redex and Cat cleaner through the fuel line and engine over a 300 mile drive to Alton Towers.


any advice and help of things to try and check would be brill! x

Hello. I'm no expert but I've got a 207cc petrol and have had this come up on mine. As far as I know (I'm sure an expert will be along to put me right if I am wrong!!) but depollution faulty is a 'cover a multitude of sins ' fault light the only way you can tell what's wrong us to get a proper diagnostic test done by someone with the planet kit.

have just run diagnostics on it and it came with the code P0341 which points at the camshaft sensor.

now doing some research that brings up the engine doesnt actually have this sensor (dont you just love french cars!) but points towards the 02/lamber sensors.

running a second diagnostics test directed at them we can see that one wasnt actually sending a reading back at all but taking voltage. so im guessing thats where the problem lies x

Changed the after cat lambda sensor and it's still occurring! What next? Crankshaft sensor?

Someone else must of had this issue and fixed it?

I thought all engines had camshaft sensors? Or is it just diesels?

Wrong plugs or failing coil pack. (Cam Phase detection is via coil pack/plugs).

Hello as Gibbo posted earlier what you need to do is click on the link above and follow the instructions on how to get ur post count up and PM a mamber with PP2000 and get ur car hooked up to that. This is a clone of the Dealers system and will do a far more indepth read including live data otherwise you will just continue to throw good maney after bad trying to chase the fault like lovelybird62 said Depollution system faulty covers anything to do with the exhaust system and parts of the fuel system so it could be anything.

Generic OBD Error Code Details for P0341
Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance
What does this mean?
OBD Code P0341refers to
This P0341 code basically means that the powertrain control module (PCM) detected a problem with the camshaft signal. The camshaft position sensor (CPS) sends a specific signal to the PCM for Top Dead Center on the compression stroke as well as signals indicating the position of the cam sensor. This is accomplished through a reluctor wheel attached to the camshaft that passes by the cam sensor. Any time that the signal to the PCM is inconsistent with what the signal should be, this code is set. NOTE: this code can also be set by extended cranking periods.
Symptoms
Possible sumptoms of OBD code P0341
The car will likely run with this code set, as it is often intermittent and also because the PCM can often operate the vehicle in "limp-in/limp-home" mode even with a cam sensor signal problem. There may be no noticeable symptoms other than: Poor fuel economy (if engine runs) Possible no start condition
Causes
Possible causes of OBD code P0341
A code P0341 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: Cam sensor wiring routed too close to spark plug wiring (causing interference) Poor wiring connection at cam sensor Poor wiring connection at PCM Bad cam sensor Damaged reluctor wheel
Possible Solutions
Often relacing the sensor fixes this code, but not necessarily. Therefore it's important to check the following: Check that the wiring isn't routed too close to any secondary ignition components (coil, spark plug wires, etc.) Visually inspect the wiring at the sensor for any burn marks, discoloration indicative of melting or chafing Visually inspect the cam sensor for damage Visually inspect the reluctor wheel through the cam sensor port (if possible) for any missing teeth or any damage If reluctor isn't visible from outside the engine, visual test can only be done by removing cam shaft or intake manifold (depending on engine design) If all checks out okay, then replace the sensor. The above is fine for diagnostic if you have a cam sensor. This engine has no sensor. the cam/phase detection is carried out via ignition circuit, hence fault is coil pack/plugs related

Thanks for the 2 comments above, i have received my new repalcement crankshaft sensor today so will make progress in replacing that this weekend and shall see.

If the car was starting and running OK but with the light on, then changing the crank sensor is unlikely to have any affect

Previously its had a coil pack and plug change on its one of its previous MOT's (August 2012)

Is it possible that a brand new coil pack/ plugs can fail in less than 12 months...?

Whats the chances its skipped a tooth?

Can happen and you said light was on when you got car. Sagem Coil packs are known to be poor and fail early. Check make of plugs NGK are known to cause issues Beru are oem plugs and quite cheap to change.

Could have skipped a tooth on the belt double check timings marks as you say so worth a check.

Just worked out how to answer a post, not sure how to ask one yet.

So first time Peugeot owner, it's a 2007 - 207 cabriolet, 84,000 miles.

Private sale ? I took it straight for a service and mentioned a warning light Depollution System Faulty which kept beeping. It had a full service but two days later suddenly stopped after beeping again. It starts beeping within half a mile after starting. I called AA and they did a diagnostic which said possible ignition coil or something to do with cam. He followed me to the garage, they have had it two days and replaced ignition coil. Yep it's fine it again.! I've spent £500 in a week and it's still faulty! I don't think anyone at the garage knows how to solve it. I'm reluctant to throw more money at it. So it's sitting outside looking lovely but I don't trust it to go anywhere. Any ideas!

Antipollution error peugeot 207cc

Hey all,

I just bought my first car in March 2018 - newly qualified driver also, so imagine how annoying this error for me.

After taking the car home from Essex to Berkshire (2 hours drive), the antipollution error registered on the car straight away with the engine management light on.
Peugeot 207CC GT 1.6 engine - 2007 May - bought it with 102600 mileage. - old car with lots of mileage.- PETROL CAR

Since March to now June, 2018 - i took the car to 3 different garages (local ones, NOT peugeot as they would charge me even more).
The following has been done on the car: (PETROL ENGINE)

- New radiator
- New thermostat housing
- New cam shaft sensor
- New temperature engage sensor

Now the car is not going into limp mode anymore, but the antipollution error has changed to Depollution error, and it is coming up every few days, then it goes away and so on. The car feels dodgy to drive, the clutch feels really strange and noisy when this depollution error comes up, i can hardly accelerate to up to more than 40 mph, the engine shuts of occasionally and also few different "NOT TRUE" errors came up along with the depollution one, for example Fog light error.
The car is literally eating petrol - i fill it up full every week with £50 worth of petrol. Also i have to add 1 L oil every 2 weeks as it seems like it is burning oil too?!

It was also coming up continuously with MISFIRE x2 code, but did not say what was it for, and unfortunately the garages each time only told me that the error message that came up were MISFIRE x2. - does not help us, does it?!

The depollution error has been cleared like 6x with a Peugeot code reader, but is still coming up every few days and the car feels dangerous to drive, so i am not even trying to go on motorways, etc. Embarrassing enough to drive it with a black box and feeling dodgy, but engine cuts out every few days in a middle of a huge roundabout, people are beeping at me, fingers, calling me names, when it is the car, not me.

I am sure that all of you who reads this have read so many forums and there are so many possible reasons can be for the antipollution error, but i need some advice where to go from here, as i bought the car for £1000 and already spent £600 on it, so i am not going to sell it, nor spending any more money on it.
ANY ADVICE ON WHAT ELSE SHOULD I CHANGE OR LOOK OUT FOR?
