Hi Folks,

I have recently bought a peugeot 307 1.6 hdi 110 DV6TED4 engine. The car has previously had an engine replacement, but I don't have any details on it or any service history. I was wondering is there a way of decoding the engine number to try and get an idea of how old the engine is? This may seem trivial, but I'd like to know if it is a younger or older engine for peace of mind. Thanks.

Wont make any difference they are ALL the same regardless of age until the latest versions the engine was made for a long time with only minor changes there is no real difference over the years i would be more worried about how well it was serviced than how old it is as this is what kills it not age.

Had 1 with 300k miles on it 2008 model 1 owner well serviced was very clean inside had 1 with 60k miles not well serviced killed itself and its turbo !!
