been tramping around all day for some extra cheap anti pollution fluid rang all the local breakers nobody had any they all throw it away. I then went to a back street scrapyard he had emptied a few tanks the other day and had some kicking around so i asked if he would sell me a litre so i can try sort my car out he sold me 5litres for £10 i think thats cheap enough. so all i need to do now is get someome with pp to reset everything

Oooh, rather you than me. This seems akin to using brake fluid or coolant from a smashed up car.

I thought there were different types of fluid?

Putting my moderators hat on, what's the deal with your username? I'm concerned it gives the impression you're a diesel specialist.

I'm with the mod's on this one, Peugeot have used at least two different fluids, other makes use similar systems with different additives. For sake of a few quid your playing with fire.

Plus who's to say the owners of the cars that the fluid was taken from used the correct stuff:eek:

as far as i am aware a quick tip for those wanting to top up there own dpf/fap fluid. Have a look at the reservoir under your car the pipes that go to it vary in colour clickfit connectors this gives an indication of the fluid you buy

*Green Clickfit: Eolys 176 (until stocks are exhausted)
*Green Clickfit: Infineum F7995
*Blue Clickfit: Rhodia Powerflex
*White Clickfit: Rhodia DPX42
*Jlm pat fluid is possibly the cheapest and replaces many original fluids

Now as far as mixing fluids is concerned
dpx 42 CANNOT be mixed with any other fluid!!!
eolys 176 can be mixed with the other 2
however (rhodia) eolys powerflex and infinium f7995 should never be mixed

please correct me if im wrong as im not 100% sure on this and i cant find anything to say if you have to use a specific one if your tank is empty.

im not a diesel specialist i just got bored of entering usernames that were taken and this one wasn't so i took it :)

also i belive the fluid is a sort of octane booster?? to heat the exhaust gases to burn the soot out of the dpf/fap as on some engines the dpf/fap is located too far from the exhaust manifold for it to burn naturally.

Technically, yes. But its far removed from something like Millers EcoMax or other octane boosters or DPF cleaners.

And as I know people who've tried this, or used that cheap additive that goes in trucks is precisely why I will never buy a second hand car with a DPF.
