You will fail the MOT unless you know a garage that will do it :)

Engine management light will come on the dash, You will then apparently need a stage 2 remap of the engine £250 approx, to sort the lamba sensor triggering the engine management light on the dash which is an MOT fail.

Not worth doing unless your serious about engine modifications.

You can spend all the money you like on remaps etc to put light out. MOT fail as CAT not present (Visual Check) and not a hope of getting it past emissions tailpipe check

Such modifications were made illegal by The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2000. Specifically Regulation 61A(3)

To paraphrase (because it's pretty impenetrable): you can't make modifications that mean that the vehicle nolonger meets the emissions regulations that it was designed to meet.

This includes diesel particle filters

Furthermore, such a modification should be reported to your insurer, and since the modification means that the vehicle cannot be used legally on a public road they will be unable to insure you.

Don't do it kids :(

And, although unlikely, a spot check by the police and they find no cat, its deemed unroadworthy and will be scooped off the road at your expense.
