Can get this for £50, its the timing belt kit. Seems a good price but should you buy genuine parts where timing belt kit is concerned.

Can anyone comment on dayco parts......

The 1.4hdi`s timing belt`s replacement interval i`ve learnt is 144K.:eek:
That seems a tad high,doesn`t it?

Is it OK to leave it until that time or is it prudent to replace after X ammount of years?
Are they generally reliable,anyone heard of one breaking?

144K?!?!?!!?!

Even if it was that in the schedule, I would still be changing at 60/70k. Thats just one job not worth leaving for that long because if it breaks you know you're in for some expense (most of the time)

Timing belts are usually a 5 year thing if going off years
