The cv boot on our 2007 307cc is leaking grease and needs replacing, is the cv joint held on by a spring circlip that you compress and pull off or do you have to knock it off with a hammer.
the last peugeot i had and this cv boot thing happened i had to replace the complete shaft, i think it was an old 106.
thanks.

If it original shaft joint is not removable you have to use a stretch boot. Some after market ones are removable

Out of interest, Will a replacement boot stretch over the joint using a cone or does the joint need to be separated? Also, does the hub carrier need to be seperated from the strut or is there enough play once the ball joint has been seperated? I've had the front of the car apart a couple of times last year and didn't pay attention to it when I did the front suspension, was just glad to get things back together.
