Hi there,

Soon I shall be doing the Cam belt etc on our 2.0L HDI 110.

In Haynes it states 'Insert am 8mm bolt, rod or drill through the hole in the left hand flange of the cylinder block by the starter motor'.

Does anyone know where this hole is as I cannot see it?

Also another step is Haynes is 'Unbolt the closure plate from the bottom of the clutch housing'.

Again I cannot see such a plate. I was expecting to see a plate like the one on my 306 HDI 90.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Pete

Cheers I might try that, it doesn't look too hard to get out.

Will I see this hole once the starters out?

It states to remove the closure plate to lock the crank in order to remove the crank pulley although I may just crank it on the starter like I did when I changed the pulley.

lock it with the starter hole since you have the starter out anyway a bolt with a washer slotted into ring gear turn it till it jams and loosen bottom bolt job done once belt done you can tighten by reversing the bolt to other end of gap.

Haynes dont do things the easy way :)

I shall try and lock it via the starter hole as you suggested. Couldn't quite follow what you said there but i'm sure it'll become clearer once I have the starter out.

I've just checked my 306 too and still cant find it.

Is it behind and beneath the starter?

I think I'll be taking the starter out to make life easier.

Cheers
