Any regular contributors on this section have probably seen my recent posts requesting advice on my wife's V reg 1.1 206, which has suffered from an intermittent cutting out fault for some time now. It's currently in the garage and will not start, and the garage are suggesting a new ecu. I made enquiries about the possibility of a salvaged ecu, because we didn't want to spend the estimated £400 to £500 if it wouldn't definitely fix the problem. I asked the question on another site and got an answer from an auto-electrician who said that a crank sensor could most likely fix the problem - costs £20 to £30 for the part, fixes on at the front of the engine with one bolt, and is the cause of a common engine-cutting-out-whilst-driving fault. Has anybody heard or had any experience of these ?
Thanks
