I am suffering a mystery "major engine fault" Causing limp mode. Only thing found with backstreet diagnostics was low speed fan not working and Oil pressure/level sensor which may be a software glitch.
So i put a new fuel filter in. Nope.
Whipped the front end off fitted a new fan.. ok till i stop at a junction and limp mode.? Any help greatly appreciated. :(

You dont mention a code but recently I’ve been looking at a Peugeot service bulletin. Not saying this is your issue but might be worth a read

If the system is getting ANY feedback from the oil sensor that oil pressure is an issue, it will trigger a MAJOR fault and could even shut down the motor.
You need to sort out the 'issue' you are having with the oil sensor. Maybe it is not a 'software glitch' and your motor is about to nuke itself...???

I have recently had similar problems with my Partner Tepee. I had two fault codes which related to both low speed fan and high speed fan not working. It stopped my air con working and also stopped my DPF regeneration but I also went into limp mode with the words engine fault appearing on screen.
How I fixed it was by replacing the cooling fan control unit which is located right next to the cooling fan on the fan housing.
After I replaced this I still got the engine fault display on dash and limp mode so I unplugged the cooling fan and fed 12 volts to it from a 30 amp battery I had in the garage. It span up ok so I suspected it was power not getting to the fan itself. I then lifted the fuse board under the bonnet and on the front underneath there is some maxi fuses. One of the 50 amp fuses had indeed blown so I replaced it and yep, my fan burst into life and the engine fault message is now gone and car regens the DPF as it should.
I’m not saying this is your fault but maybe you could look at the fan control unit first. Put a meter over the resistor and see the reading. My new part read .8 ohms and the old one didn’t give a reading so obviously it was knackered. You could then check the maxi fuses and see if any have blown.

Worth a try as the garage I took mine to for a diagnoses said with low speed fan fault, more often than not that code related to the fan control unit and sometimes it takes the maxi fuse with it when it malfunctions.
