You're restricted to upgrading to one of the higher spec pug ones, unless you don't mind losing access to all the cars set up menus.

Is it a matter of calling the pug dealer or is there a list of pug stereos online that I can take a look at?

Not really. While you can order them through the dealers parts dept ( at £400 or more a pop for the higher spec ones), they're not really intended for aftermarket sale so they won't have displays or brochures for you to gaze at. The buyer specs the one he wants, or buys the car with the spec he wants, at point of sale and most supply they do will be for stolen or warranty replacement units.

Best thing is to find out which one your car has, then research the 'web and find the model you would like instead. Then keep an eye on egay for one, though you then have the palaver of getting it programmed to match.

Personally, I'd stick with what you got. You can then upgrade the speakers, or upgrade to the JBL speaker and sub pack. Then get either the geuine pug or an aftermarket mp3/iPod interface fitted.

If your head unit says "MP3" on the front then it is probably the RD4 and will work with an MP3/iPod kit. Check your glovebox to see if you have it already fitted (you'll see the connectors if it's fitted).

Unfortunately it doesn't say MP3 and there's no connectors in the glove box :(

I've just had another look in the glove box and the only thing I saw is a circular area to the right that leads to the back of the stereo 'area'.

You likely have the RD3, though I can't be 100%.

Does yours have Radio/CD and Aux mode when you flick through the functions?

If not, take her to a car audio specialist and they'll tell you in seconds if a kit will work with your wee beastie.

I think its an RD4 - just looking through the manual and it mentions two stereos, the RT3 and the RD4 which looks very similar to mine (I can't be ar*ed to go have a look just now) so I might be half way there.
