Hi, I?m new to all of this so bare with me...
I have a 55 plate Peugeot 307 with 1.4 Diesel engine.
Took the car to get some new tyres and the mechanic told me when I came back that the engine was misfiring (although I?ve not had any issues yet with it) and that the engine sounds ?very rough?.
He mentioned that the problem is most likely the injectors (??) and when asked about if i should keep the car, he told me to get rid ASAP. He also stated that the small amount of smoke coming from the exaust when the engine is revved may mean it doesn?t pass its MOT in March.

Now I?ve been debating getting rid of the car before it starts costing me money - it was only meant to be a runaround.

Are any of these problems common with this car and would it be economical to try fix these issues? Or shall I get rid while I still can and try make some of my money back? Just asking for a second opinion :)

Thanks I?m advance

Diesels don't misfire in the "normal" sense as there are no plugs to misfire! But it could be a number of things. When did it last have a good proper service, and by that I mean that you know it was done properly and ALL filters were changed and the proper oil put in? Next would be to get the car read with the planet system to ensure there are no failings in the systems. And don't take much notice of tyre fitters to diagnose things they probably know less about than you!
