Hi all,

couple of probs if anybody can help.

ok have v loud screech when clutch depressed, bearing is thought to be the prob. Car is 307se 110 1.6 hdi.

Benefits of smf over dmf & rough cost to replace both if poss please.

Also soot deposits on turbo, assume a seal has gone, easy fix?

Soot deposits are not a problem they do tend to leak a little at the actuator they should not but they can or it may be the clamp is loose the clamp needs to come off to do the clutch anyway so everything can be checked then.

Not sure if ther'e an smf kit availablr for the 1.6Hdi.Thebenefits/diadvantages of smf/dmf is a fiercely debated subject that there appears to be no definitive answer to. I would say that the 1.6Hdi is a really horrible job to do, by far the worst of virtually any of the peugeot engine/gearbox combinations.
